Annual Award
for the best American Studies Master’s Thesis
written at a Polish University
The Polish Association for American Studies is inviting submissions for its second annual best MA thesis award. A jury headed by Prof. Agnieszka Salska, Prof. Jerzy Kutnik, Prof. Zofia Kolbuszewska, and Dr. Pawe?? Frelik will evaluate the submissions and announce the results in early September 2010.
The author of the winning MA thesis will be invited to publish the entire thesis in electronic form on the Polish Association for American Studies website, and one chapter in Polish Journal of American Studies.
- One master’s thesis can be submitted per English or American Studies department/center each year. Consequently, in each department MA thesis advisors must collaborate to develop internal rules for selecting the best thesis.
- A thesis can only be submitted by the advisor or a committee of academic advisors.
- This year’s submission deadline is July 31, 2010.
- Only candidates who received their MA diploma in the 12 months preceding the PAAS award competition are eligible (i.e. July 31, 2009-July 31, 2010).
- Two hard copies of the MA thesis and one electronic copy in Word 97 on CDrom should be sent to: Dr. Agnieszka Graff, American Studies Center, al. Niepodleglosci 22, 02-653 Warszawa. Please include a note stating that the thesis is a submission for the PAAS contest.
- The results will be announced in early September 2010 on the PAAS website.
