PAAS emerging scholars workshops
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the PAAS Morphing America Conference 2026, I would like to kindly ask for your help in sharing the attached call for participation for the PAAS Doctoral Workshop 2026 – Work-in-Progress Seminar for Early Career Scholars in American Studies.
The workshop will take place as part of the annual conference of the Polish Association for American Studies (PAAS), hosted by the University of Szczecin (16-18 September, 20026) on 15th of September 2026. It is designed as an interactive space for discussion, mentorship, and intellectual exchange among doctoral candidates, independent early-career researchers, prospective PhD students, and other emerging scholars working in the broad field of American Studies.
Rather than focusing on finished research, the workshop welcomes projects at any stage of development. Participants are invited to discuss emerging ideas, dissertation plans, methodological and theoretical questions, archival challenges, publishing concerns, and other aspects of academic research and professional development. Each short presentation will be followed by an extended roundtable discussion with peers and invited mentors.
We would be very grateful if you could circulate the attached announcement among doctoral students, early-career researchers, and colleagues who may be interested in this opportunity.
We also warmly invite senior scholars and experienced researchers who would be willing to join the workshop as mentors. One of the workshop’s core aims is to create a supportive environment in which early-career scholars can benefit from the advice, experience, and encouragement of more established colleagues. We would be delighted to welcome mentors interested in contributing to these discussions and sharing insights from their own academic journeys.
