International Colloquium of American Studies – CfP

Happy Halloween! In the spirit of the holiday, we are happy to tell you that the International Colloquium of American Studies is back from the dead – or rather revivified after a little break. The theme (appropriately) is Renewal, Revival, and Renaissance, and Palacky University is hosting the event in person on May 22-23, 2026. Please find the full CfP attached to this email. If you don’t see a topic which fits your current research, we can accommodate specialist themes in separate panels, so please don’t hesitate to propose with an innovative idea.

We’ve added a few bells and whistles this time around, to make the Colloquium especially accessible to first-time conference participants, and we’d really appreciate if you would share this CfP your PhD students or ambitious Mgr students. We have an ‘on ramp’ leading up to the conference for folks who would like extra support:

“How to write a CfP proposal” Webinar Nov 14, 2025https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScFYV4VGPh6SXj7ZggjbYLiBvoTQ59xJPV7vqZdns_jVLdRvg/viewform?usp=sharing&ouid=115671078009982227279

And we are also running a week-long academic writing (+ conference paper writing) workshop fromMay 18-22, 2026, which will include follow up preparatory webinars for those who participated in the Proposal Webinar and were accepted. On May 29th, we will have a follow-up webinar on turning a conference paper into an article.

Proposals for conference papers or posters (or panels!) are due December 1st, 2025, and we’re hoping to read yours as well.

Should you require any additional information, please don’t hesitate to contact one of the Colloquium organizers:
