2025 James W. Gargano Award
We are happy to inform that the Executive Committee of the Poe Studies Association has selected Sławomir Studniarz’s article, “Multimodality in ‘The Bells’: New Explorations in Poe’s Symphonic Poe,” published in The Edgar Allan Poe Review, to receive the 2025 James W. Gargano Award.
This award, established by Mrs. Margaret Gargano and Stephen Loewentheil, is presented to scholars for outstanding articles on Poe in honor of James W. Gargano, who was the author of landmark articles on Poe’s fiction and a founding member of the PSA.
The competition for this award is significant, and Sławek’s selection is therefore a great honor. His name and publication information will be listed on the PSA website under AWARDS and as part of a most distinguished list of Poe scholars and articles dating back to 2022.
